With their in-house web designers focused on the new website, REI needed help creating and producing a steady flow of top-quality content.
Into the wild.
When it comes to scaling a mountain, it's safe to say that the folks at REI are experts on what you'll need to make it to the top. Since 1938, the multichannel retailer has been known for providing top-quality gear to use and wear in the great outdoors – and today, for providing informative, engaging web content that both educates and inspires.
During their 2015 website redesign, these trailblazers faced a peak they weren't sure how to summit. With their internal teams busy creating their new website, REI had limited time and resources to dedicate to keeping their existing site and digital support up to date. This balancing act was proving too much for REI’s staff to accommodate – especially because this was highly involved design work: each piece of new web content on the existing site needed to be a perfect fit for the company’s distinctive brand.
Filter’s scalable team of Filterati created and produced accurate, on-brand content that kept the current website running at full capacity and quality.
Designing our way to the top.
Filter built a team of expert Visual Designers, Production Designers and Copywriters who took on approximately 150 projects of various shapes, sizes and levels of complexity. Immersed in the company’s distinctive brand, they consistently delivered the high-quality web content that REI is known for.
The Filterati integrated seamlessly into REI’s internal teams and culture, and a dedicated Project Manager kept the program operating at maximum speed and efficiency. With this robust support, REI’s creative teams could stay focused on perfecting their new web presence.
REI launched their new website on time and on budget, without having lost any productivity or brand integrity in the process.
Ain’t no mountain high enough.
By providing specialized expertise, a flexible model, and robust project management support, Filter gave REI’s internal team bandwidth they needed to focus on the main task in front of them. The program so effective that once the new site was launched, REI extended the contracts of nearly every member of the Filter team, with work continuing into the next year.
"You all have been incredible partners to us as we navigated the last year, and will be the first I reach out to for future needs as they arise."
